Business Owner of the Year
Amy-Jane Marsden, Managing Director of Pro-Tech MOT & Automotive Academy, has been named Business Owner of the Year at the Women in Motor Industry Awards 2025.
The award recognises women who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, entrepreneurship and impact within the automotive sector. Amy-Jane received the award in recognition of her work developing Pro-Tech into a growing automotive training, assessment and consultancy business, while championing high professional standards, skills development and greater opportunities within the industry.
The recognition marks another significant milestone for Pro-Tech and reflects the continued growth of the Academy and the team behind it.

Recognising Leadership in the Automotive Industry
The Women in Motor Industry Awards celebrate the achievements of women working across the automotive sector, recognising individuals making a significant contribution through leadership, innovation, skills and professional development.
Being named Business Owner of the Year recognises Amy-Jane’s role in the continued growth and development of Pro-Tech MOT & Automotive Academy and the Academy’s expanding presence within automotive training, assessment and consultancy.
Building Pro-Tech
Since establishing Pro-Tech, Amy-Jane has led the development of the Academy alongside Operations Director Leigh Marsden and the wider Pro-Tech team.
What began as a specialist automotive training business has grown to provide training, assessment and consultancy across MOT, electric and hybrid vehicles, ADAS, IRTEC and commercial vehicle operations, supporting automotive professionals and organisations across the UK.
The business has also continued to develop its focus on professional standards, industry collaboration and creating high-quality training that reflects the realities of working within the automotive sector.
A Year of Recognition
The award rounded off a significant year for both Amy-Jane and Pro-Tech.
Earlier in 2025, Amy-Jane was shortlisted for the Barbara Cox Woman of the Year Award, before delivering a keynote at EV Summit 2025 at the University of Oxford. Pro-Tech also achieved B Corp Certification during the year, becoming the first automotive training provider and first IMI-accredited centre globally to achieve the certification.
Looking Ahead
Being named Business Owner of the Year is recognition not only of Amy-Jane’s leadership, but of the work carried out by the entire Pro-Tech team.
As the Academy continues to grow, Pro-Tech remains focused on developing automotive skills, supporting businesses and technicians, and maintaining the high professional standards that have shaped the organisation from the beginning.
