About This Accreditation
Our Light Vehicle Inspection Accreditation (LVI) is designed for experienced light vehicle technicians who want to demonstrate their competence in inspecting and assessing the roadworthiness of light vehicles.
The IMI accreditation provides a recognised route for experienced technicians who may not hold a formal Level 3 automotive qualification, allowing them to demonstrate their practical skills and underpinning technical knowledge through assessment.
For technicians looking to progress into MOT testing, the Light Vehicle Inspection Accreditation is a recognised accreditation route that can be used to meet the technical qualification requirement for MOT Tester Training – Classes 4 & 7, subject to meeting the other DVSA eligibility requirements.
Who is this for?
Our Light Vehicle Inspection Accreditation is suited to:
- Experienced light vehicle technicians working in garages, dealerships and workshops
- Technicians who want to progress into MOT testing but do not hold a formal Level 3 automotive qualification
- Experienced technicians who want a recognised accreditation of their existing skills and competence
Practical Assessment for Experienced Technicians
This isn’t a course designed to teach an inexperienced technician how to inspect and repair vehicles. The Light Vehicle Inspection Accreditation is designed to assess and recognise the skills and knowledge experienced technicians have developed through their work in the industry.
Our team will guide you through the accreditation process, explain what is expected and support you in demonstrating your existing competence through the required assessments.
