About This Level 1 ADAS Awareness Course
Our ADAS Awareness course provides an introduction to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and is designed for learners who need to understand ADAS without carrying out technical calibration or diagnostic work.
The course explores the purpose and operation of common ADAS technologies, including the sensors and systems used to support functions such as autonomous emergency braking and lane assistance. Learners will also develop an understanding of why correct system operation is important and how repair or maintenance activities can affect ADAS-equipped vehicles.
This Level 1 qualification is theory-based and focuses on developing awareness and understanding rather than practical calibration skills, making it suitable for both technical and non-technical automotive roles.
Who Is This ADAS Awareness Course For?
This entry-level qualification is suitable for people working in or entering the automotive industry who need an understanding of ADAS, including:
- Service advisors, parts advisors and customer-facing automotive staff
- Apprentices and new technicians developing their understanding of ADAS
- Workshop and bodyshop staff who may encounter ADAS-equipped vehicles
- Employers looking to improve ADAS awareness across their team
Why ADAS Awareness Matters
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems are fitted to an increasing number of modern vehicles, using cameras, radar and other sensors to support safety and driver-assistance functions.
People working around ADAS-equipped vehicles need to understand what these systems do and recognise when repair, maintenance or other work could affect their operation. Developing this awareness helps staff understand the importance of appropriate procedures and when specialist ADAS calibration or diagnostic work may be required.
