About This Electric Vehicle Awareness Course
Our Electric Vehicle Awareness qualification provides an introduction to electric and hybrid vehicles for learners who need to understand the technology, associated hazards and safe working considerations without carrying out technical work on high-voltage systems.
The course introduces the different types of electric and hybrid vehicles, key components and safety systems, together with the potential hazards associated with high-voltage vehicle technology.
This Level 1 qualification is theory-based and focuses on developing awareness and understanding rather than practical maintenance or repair skills, making it suitable for both technical and non-technical automotive roles.
Who is this Electric Vehicle Awareness Course for?
This entry-level qualification is suitable for people working in or entering the automotive industry who need an understanding of electric and hybrid vehicles, including:
- Workshop staff who work around electric and hybrid vehicles
- Service advisors, parts advisors, sales teams and other customer-facing staff
- Apprentices and new entrants developing their understanding of EV technology
- Non-technical automotive staff who may encounter electric and hybrid vehicles in their role
Why Electric Vehicle Awareness Matters
Electric and hybrid vehicles contain high-voltage systems and components that present different hazards from those found in conventional vehicles. People working around these vehicles need to understand how to recognise potential risks and the importance of following appropriate safety procedures.
Electric Vehicle Awareness training helps learners understand the basic technology used in electric and hybrid vehicles, recognise associated hazards and understand the precautions required when working around EVs, without undertaking technical work on high-voltage systems.
