Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Inspection Technician Accreditation

About This Accreditation

The IRTEC Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Inspection Technician Accreditation is an industry-recognised accreditation for technicians responsible for inspecting buses, coaches and other public service vehicles.

Formerly known as the IRTEC Bus & Coach Inspection Technician Accreditation, the PSV route assesses a technician’s knowledge and practical competence in carrying out roadworthiness inspections to the standards expected within the commercial vehicle industry.

Achieving IRTEC PSV Inspection Technician accreditation demonstrates that a technician has been independently assessed against recognised industry standards and is competent to carry out thorough and effective inspections of passenger-carrying vehicles.

Successful candidates are awarded an IRTEC Inspection Technician licence, valid for five years, and are entered onto the IRTEC technician register, providing independent recognition of their competence and professional standards.
