What is IRTEC Accreditation?
IRTEC is an independent accreditation scheme that assesses the competence of technicians working within the commercial vehicle industry. Rather than simply confirming that training has been completed, IRTEC accreditation assesses a technician’s practical skills and underpinning knowledge against recognised industry standards.
For Inspection Technicians, accreditation provides independent recognition of their ability to carry out thorough vehicle inspections, identify defects and apply the appropriate inspection standards.
Successful technicians receive an IRTEC licence valid for five years and are listed on the IRTEC Technician Register, providing recognised evidence of their competence to employers, fleet operators and the wider industry.
