Eligibility Requirements
This dual accreditation certifies technicians to inspect both HGVs and passenger-carrying vehicles, offering a cost-effective route to holding both IRTEC licences.
- A combined 3 years’ experience working on both HGVs and PSVs
- or
- A Level 3 qualification with at least 1 year of hands-on experience across both vehicle types
Pro-Tech offers three tailored routes to achieve IRTEC accreditation:
Option 1: Accreditation Only (½-Day Assessment)
Designed for confident technicians requiring no additional training.
Includes both the online knowledge test and practical assessment conducted on-site.
Option 2: Accreditation with Classroom Training (1-Day Training + ½-Day Assessment)
Combines theoretical instruction with assessments.
Provides one day of classroom training followed by the online test and practical assessment on-site.
Option 3: Accreditation with Classroom and Practical Training (2 Days Training + ½-Day Assessment)
Offers comprehensive preparation through both classroom and hands-on workshop training.
Includes one day of theoretical instruction, one day of practical training, and the subsequent assessments on-site.

This combined accreditation certifies technicians to carry out safety inspections on both large commercial vehicles and passenger-carrying vehicles, ensuring roadworthiness in line with DVSA standards.
