ADAS Training at Pro-Tech
As Advanced Driver Assistance Systems become increasingly common across modern vehicles, technicians need the knowledge and practical skills to understand, diagnose and correctly calibrate these safety-critical systems.
Pro-Tech’s ADAS Training courses are designed for automotive professionals who want to develop their understanding of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and gain the practical competence needed to work confidently with ADAS-equipped vehicles. Our training combines technical knowledge with hands-on experience using industry-standard equipment and real-world calibration procedures.
Why is ADAS training important?
Systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking and parking assistance rely on cameras, radar and other sensors operating accurately. Repairs, wheel alignment, suspension work, windscreen replacement and other routine workshop procedures can affect these systems, making correct calibration an increasingly important part of modern vehicle repair.
Correct ADAS calibration isn’t just about restoring a vehicle’s functionality, it’s about ensuring safety-critical systems perform as intended. As vehicle technology continues to evolve, workshops need technicians who understand when calibration may be required, how it should be carried out and the importance of verifying the system afterwards. Investing in the right ADAS training helps businesses build that capability in-house while giving technicians the confidence to work with increasingly sophisticated vehicle systems.
The UK Insurance Industry Requirements (IIR) for the safe repair of ADAS-equipped vehicles, published by Thatcham Research on behalf of its insurer members, specifically address when inspection, realignment and calibration need to be considered and require relevant work to be undertaken by a competent person.
Which ADAS training course is right for me?
Our ADAS training courses cover different levels of knowledge and practical competence, from understanding the fundamentals of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems through to calibration, diagnosis and rectification.
Level 1 ADAS Awareness provides an introduction to ADAS technology, helping learners understand how these systems operate, their role in vehicle safety and why correct maintenance and calibration are so important.
Level 2 Technical Specialist in ADAS Calibration develops the practical knowledge and skills required to carry out calibration procedures safely and accurately on ADAS-equipped vehicles.
Level 3 Technical Specialist in Diagnosing, Rectifying and Recalibrating ADAS Components is designed for technicians working at a more advanced level, developing the skills required to diagnose, rectify and recalibrate ADAS components and systems.
We also offer specialist technician accreditations. AOM012 4 Wheel Alignment Accreditation assesses competence in carrying out accurate four-wheel alignment, while AOM230 ADAS Calibration Technician Accreditation provides industry recognition for technicians carrying out ADAS calibration.
